Scheduling An Appointment

Monday through Friday, patients in our clinic are seen by appointment only. Appointments are made for a particular hour and day by calling the office during regular office hours.

(501) 224-5437

You may schedule an appointment with the physician of your choice. We do now offer telemedicine visits. Information on how to access All For Kids Telemedicine visits can be found here:  afkpeds.org/telemedicine.

In order to insure that we can see our patients who become ill on any particular day, we intentionally do not pre-schedule all of our appointments for any day. We call the appointments that we hold until the beginning of each day “sick visits”. “Sick visit” appointments which are held unscheduled for all of our physicians, become available at 8:00 am each morning.

  • Laboratory Results

Lab results are posted on our patient portal (MyChart) when results come back from the lab. MyChart results are resulted so fast, that our physician may not have seen the results when you are notified.  We will review the lab results and then post our interpretation of those results on MyChart. If you don't have MyChart active, please call our office to set this up.

  • Prescription Refills

Prescription refills are an important part of the management of chronic medical problems which come up on a regular basis in our practice. Preventative asthma medications generally are refilled on a monthly basis as are medications to treat problems such as seizures, attention deficit disorder and gastro-esophageal reflux. When a child is placed on a daily medicine, a certain number of refills will be indicated on the prescription. When those refills are exhausted, we generally intend for you to bring your child into the office for a follow-up visit prior to authorizing the next refill of the medication.

However, most medications used to treat attention deficit disorder cannot be refilled. Because of this, new prescriptions must be written and sent to the pharmacy. Please give our office a one-week notice to refill these prescriptions.

You can request a prescription refill on MyChart our patient portal, or by calling the office at (501) 224-5437 and selecting prescription refills on the voice prompt.

  • Follow-up Visits

Follow-up visits are another very important aspect of our practice. Certain serious illnesses such as blood infections, staph infections and pneumonia, require daily follow-up visits until the problem is resolved. Other illnesses, such as ear infections, require follow-up visits usually two to three weeks after the infection to ensure that the problem has properly resolved. Chronic illnesses such as seizure disorders, asthma and attention deficit disorder require periodic follow-up visits to adjust daily medications and monitor disease progression. Follow-up visits are extremely important to ensure that further treatment is not needed. It is your responsibility to keep follow-up appointments as recommended by our office. Failure to keep your follow-up appointment may result in significant health effects in your child. Please be aware that we do charge for follow-up visits.

  • Payments and Insurance

Like other professionals, we expect payment for services rendered at our clinic at the time of the service unless prior arrangements are made. We will assist you in filing your insurance for your reimbursement. For your convenience, we accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. Should you anticipate difficulty paying for the charges for your care, please consult our office staff. We will make every effort to work with you whenever possible.

  • No Show Policy

    Purpose

Our clinic aims to provide quality healthcare services to all pediatric patients. To ensure efficient scheduling and optimal patient care, we have established the following no-show policy.

    Definition

A “no-show” occurs when a patient misses a scheduled appointment without canceling or rescheduling in advance.

A “late-cancel” is an appointment canceled and/or rescheduled within a short time frame of the scheduled appointment, making the appointment slot unusable to schedule eligible patients. Any appointment canceled within a 24 hour timeframe may be subject to the same fee we would charge a no-show.

Exception: Saturday sick clinic appointments are generally not scheduled greater than 24 hours in advance, therefore these are not included in this policy.  If a patient is late or does not show up for a scheduled Saturday sick clinic visit, depending on the volume of patients in the clinic, they may be refused care and will need to reschedule during the normal business week.

    Policy Details

    1.    Appointment Confirmation:

    • We will send appointment reminders via email, text message, or phone call.
    • Patients are encouraged to confirm their appointments promptly.
    • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance.

    2.   Late Arrivals:

    • If a patient arrives more than 15 minutes late for their appointment, it may be considered a no-show.
    • We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but it may impact the duration of the visit.

    3.   No-Show Fees:

    • After the second no-show, patients will receive a written warning.
    • Subsequent no-shows within the same 12-month period will result in a no-show fee of $25.
    • The fee amount will be communicated to the patients via our website and in communications.

    4.   Appeals and Exceptions:

    • We understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances happen.
    • If you believe your situation warrants an exception, please contact our clinic to discuss.

    5.   Three Strikes Rule:

    • After three no-shows within a year, patients may face limitations on future appointments to include dismissal from the clinic.
    • We value our patients and want to maintain a positive relationship, but consistent no-shows affect our ability to serve everyone effectively.

    Conclusion

We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this policy. By doing so, you help us provide timely care to all patients. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to our clinic staff.

Thank you for choosing our clinic for your healthcare needs!

  • Appointment Required

All visits require an appointment except in the case of an emergency. Unfortunately, we are unable to see your child if you walk in without an appointment unless an appointment is immediately available. We will ask you to return later in the day when the schedule allows.

  • Sick Appointments

We make every effort to schedule appointments for ill children on the day that you call us. Please call our office ahead of time so that we can minimize the time that you will spend waiting.

If you have a medical emergency during office hours, we will do our best to see your child immediately or refer you to the appropriate facility.

  • Well Appointments

Did you know regular well child visits are one of the most important things you can do to keep your child healthy? Well child visits also provide you with the opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about your child’s health.

Your child should have a well child visit at the intervals listed here. We recommend that you call our office 3-6 months in advance to schedule an appointment with your child's primary care provider on the date that best fits your needs.
