About Dr. Lyon

Dr. Josh Lyon did most of his growing up across Arkansas, but has always called Little Rock home. He graduated from Little Rock Central High and then received his undergraduate degree at the University of Central Arkansas where he majored in Biology and minored in Psychology. He moved back to Little Rock to attend medical school at UAMS and completed his 3-year pediatric residency at UAMS/Arkansas Children’s Hospital in 2021. During his time in medical school and residency he developed a specific passion for the mental and behavioral health needs of children and adolescents. He completed training for Patient Centered Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care through the REACH Institute.

He met his wife, Kayla, at UCA and married prior to starting medical school.  They have two fur-babies, Jack and Daisy, and in 2021 they had their first human children (twins), Evelyn and Lincoln.

Dr. Lyon enjoys being a dad, playing board games, new technology (and utilizing it in medicine), 3D printing, spending time with friends, relaxing at Greers Ferry with family, and working year-round on his synchronized Christmas light display. He and his wife attend the Summit Church where they co-lead their small group.

Dr. Lyon’s Philosophy

I developed a love for kids quickly during medical school, but what truly drew me into pediatrics was the families. Parents trust you with the most important parts of their lives and that should never be taken for granted. So much of pediatric medicine is building relationships and trust and hearing out concerns. The best part of my job, other than helping children grow into happy and healthy adults, is having conversations with parents and patients around their concerns and making sure they leave my office a little calmer and a little more confident than when they came in. God’s hand and provision have been with me every step of the way and he has truly blessed me and provided me with the greatest job in the world.
